ABOUT THE ROLE

Introduction: 

The CM&S Insights Analyst will prepare data-driven insights for business decision makers to help develop business intelligence, optimize effectiveness and/or predict business outcomes. The role will analyse data to support the process they are enabling through the identification, analysis and interpretation of trends or patterns and prepare ongoing reports and data visualizations to aid in data storytelling within defined project scope using established tools and standards.  May work under the supervision of more experienced Insights Analysts. 

Typical Accountabilities: 

• Develop, implement and support analytical and data visualization solutions designed to drive the interrogation of datasets for insights in business application areas within CM&S.  Employ the use of dedicated business intelligence applications and/or cloud services, but may also leverage the reporting capabilities of existing ERP, CRM and/or database software vendors and analytical software such as, Python and others. 

• Translates business problems into the appropriate analytics problem and solutions using established frameworks and tools. 

• Build effective relationships with established range of stakeholders to ensure utilization and value of information resources and services.  Clearly and objectively communicate results, as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations 

• Develop visualizations and tools to support and deliver analytical solutions within CM&S 

• Develop, maintain and apply ongoing knowledge and awareness in trends, standard methodology and new developments in analytics  

• Adhere to working practices to ensure that work is delivered to robust quality standards and aligned to defined governance frameworks and policies 

Skills, Experience, Education

Essential

• Bachelors Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent number of years of experience 

• Demonstrated knowledge of data analytic and visualization tools such as R, Python, SpotFire, PowerBi or Tableau. 

• Familiarity with database systems (eg SQL, NoSQL, graph) 

• Proven ability to draw conclusions from data and present in a succinct fashion to stakeholders 

• The role holder will possess a blend of data requirement analysis, data quality analysis, data stewardship skills 

• Experience in translating requirements into fit for purpose data models, data processing designs and data profile reports 

• Experience in the use of data modeling technologies 

• Knowledge of key AZ policies and standards for data covering areas such as privacy and security 

Desirable

• Master Degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline. 

• Comfortable working in high performance computing or cloud environment 

• Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, and consultancy skills 

• Software development skills 

• Experience of Data Analysis enabling tool kits 

• Experience in working in multi-skilled, multi-location data teams, working to agile principles. 

• Experience in life sciences and healthcare 

• Experience in a complex global organization 

• Good written and verbal communication and consultancy skills
